Dorzolamide Ophthalmic

Dorzolamide is used in the eye to decrease the pressure caused by primary glaucoma, an eye disorder that can cause permanent damage to vision in the affected eye(s) and lead to blindness. If glaucoma in diagnosed in one eye, Dorzolamide can be used in the other eye to prevent glaucoma from developing.

Dosage

If you miss a dose ensure it is given as soon as possible, however, if it is almost time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and continue as normal. Ensure two doses are not administered together.

I have heard that this drug can have side effects, how will this affect my pet?

Side effects are very rare with this medication, however, Dorzolamide may cause stinging as it is administered to the eye. If you notice any unusual please contact your vet as soon as possible.

Medicine Storage

Ensure this medication kept out of children’s reach. Store this medicine in a tight, light resistant container.

Possible drug interactions

Ensure your vet is aware of any other medication you are giving your pet. Drug interaction is not uncommon when two differing medications are prescribed. Contact your vet if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
