Enrofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. This medication is prescribed to treat bacterial infections in cats and dogs.
If you miss a dose ensure it is given as soon as possible, however, if it is almost time for the next dose then skip the missed dose and continue as normal. Ensure two doses are not administered together.
I have heard that this drug can have side effects, how will this affect my pet?
All medicines have potential side effects but this does not mean your pet has a high risk of experiencing them. Possible side effects may include vomiting and loss of appetite. If you notice anything unusual please contact your vet as soon as possible.
Ensure this medication is kept out of children’s reach. Store tablets in a cool, dry place at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight.
Possible drug interactions
Ensure your vet is aware of any other medication you are giving your pet. Drug interaction is not uncommon when two differing medications are prescribed. The following drugs may interact with enrofloxacin: antacids, sucralfate, nitrofurantoin, cyclsporine, theophylline, and probenecid. Contact your vet if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
